Custom Template
Is there a way to load a custom template into PowerPoint online? I tried launching a .potx file directly from my onedrive, but it won't let me it edit the file online. The only option is to edit the file in the locally installed version of PowerPoint. It would be nice if PowerPoint online recognized that that a .potx file was launched and automatically created a .pptx file in the main folder of my onedrive. Or, better yet, create a way for admins to upload a .potx file so that it shows up along with the MS default templates when a user creates a new file.

Thanks for the suggestion. We are evaluating it.

Hello,
This would be an amazing feature as more and more people collaborate across the world and need to find easily & quickly the right information.
Today, it's only done via GPO for Windows workstations.
What about Mac / PowerPoint Online version?
+ allow a certain group of people to be able to push new template updates. -

As admin, I would like to have the possibility to add custom options for new documents for all the company to insure a good company branding (by powershell or GUI in the admin section).
Even better, it could be finetune by groups of user: example, I define some template to be pinned for one department and other for another department -

This would be REALLY nice to have! @ the moment, we have published the company templates in a shared library on SPO. Everybody then synchronize the folder locally and use their respective paths as “local template path”.
It works, BUT, it can be tedious and somewhat uncertain on getting updates out to all employees.
Pls make it possible to publish templates in some kind of central asset library that all office apps automatically checks during start up. I.e making templates available no matter what client is used within the company.

Please enable this capability. This is an important feature for organizations using O365.
1. per-user personal templates
2. organization-wide templatesConsider a 'publish internally' option to the Share or Export dialogs and create a section for 'in my organization' in the template browser

Please provide an option to distribute powerpoint templates with corporate design for Office Online users. It's especially important for users with E1 licenses, which is limited to online usage.

When I store PowerPoint templates in a SharePoint Online library, the user experience really is sub-par: Clicking on a template in the browser will first open the template in the browser, and when you click "open in PowerPoint" it'll open it in PowerPoint. -- but at no point does the browser-based experience offer to create a new presentation from said template. As a result, I and several others have frequently overwritten templates accidentally. This should be easier. E.g. pop a question: "Do you want to edit the existing template, or create a new presentation from this template?"

Two very good ideas

This is a problem for me; my employer requires that presentations be done from a standardised template. With O365's online Powerpoint, I cannot meet this requirement. Second the vote for at least allowing admins of an instance to upload templates that can be used by the org.

Thanks for posting! PPT online doesn't support customize template. But we will consider it in our plan!

Thanks for your feedback Shogo, have you tried to create a PPT Online deck directly from the "Waffle" in the cloud storage portal, which locates on up-left corner and contains all the entry points of online application?
Click "PowerPoint Online", then you'll see lots of templates available there.
Please let me know if this works for you, looking forward to your feedback and more ideas! Thank you. -

I would like the ability to own my own private set of templates and for them to be made available when I'm editing a presentation within PowerPoint Online in OneDrive.
Taking the idea further. My company uses Office365, could a company maintain their own templates that are available to any employee that happens to be using PowerPoint Online and is logged in with their company credentials. Perhaps those same templates could automatically be made available within the PowerPoint desktop/mobile apps? -

Hope to be more clear. I'm saying about PowerPoint Online on Office 365, not for consumer.

Expect to add the ability to create new .pptx file from PowerPoint templates same as PowerPoint client application. Now we do not have any templates on PowerPoint online.
