Translation: Improve Japanese support
, Japanese PowerPoint presentations that include bits of Latin characters within a Japanese sentence are being auto-detected as being English as the proofing language. This causes the text runs to be split up in an undesirable way behind the scenes, causing unwanted complexity when trying to parse these files for translation using CAT (computer-aided translation) tools.
NO! Terrible Idea and Terrible Feedback!
this is stupid
This almost certainly happens for other languages beyond Japanese -- any non-Latin scripts that happen to include some English words here and there are likely to be affected.
A solution for grepping is at https://qiita.com/kaityo256/items/2977d53e70bbffd4d601, but this doesn't help CAT tools.
A secondary problem is that it is difficult to grep through PowerPoint files. found that PowerPoint 2016 seems to be missing a feature to let users disable automatic language detection, whereas Microsoft Word 2016 and Outlook 2016 have this feature
