  2. PowerPoint for Designers

Microsoft's view of the Mac world is upside down. A huge proportion of corporate presentations are created by designers using Macs. But the Mac version of PowerPoint is a lame, tame, minimal version of what's available in Windows.
Microsoft would better serve their corporate user base if they created an industrial-strength version of PowerPoint for MacOS that could not only do all the operations of the Windows version, but surpass it. Custom table styles! 9 levels of text in text boxes! SuperTheme creation! Custom Effects Themes (Shape Styles)! Custom SmartArt! All of these are possible with the current file format,…

  4. Add "Image Size and Quality" option setting to PowerPoint for Mac

The PC version of Powerpoint allows you to control "Image Size and Quality" for the presentation. The three options available are Discard editing data, Do not compress images in file, and a setting for Default resolution. Please add these options to the Mac version of Powerpoint.

Our use case is that we create very visual heavy presentations. These presentations quickly become unwieldy in a collaborate setting, reaching 300MB, 400MB, or 500MB in size. This is due to raw images being uploaded. Having the option to set a default resolution so files are compressed to a standard quality on the way…

  5. SAME FEATURES for Mac as for Windows!

It would be helpful to have the same features in PowerPoint for Mac as for Windows. It should not be any different in the first place!
For the first time in my design career I have to create a template in PowerPoint! So my adventure the last couple of days is trying to understand the software and it's not user-friendly at all. Most of the tuts are for Windows and you know what... we Mac users miss out a few of good and helpful features... like grids and settings for grids. I found something like 'snap to grid' - but…

  6. Why? WHY did you get rid of the animation timeline for PowerPoint 2019 for the mac??? Why???

I work with clients on PC, and some refer to that animation timeline in regards to having a visual representation of how their animations are coming together. Why in god's name would you not include this on the Mac? It makes absolutely no sense, and I've had to revert to Keynote for other clients who have had the same issues and are done with PowerPoint.

  9. Play Embedded Videos on Slide when Exported to Video

If you have a presentation that is exported to a video that contains embedded video on a slide that's set to play automatically after exporting the presentation to an MOV or MP4, the embedded video does not play. Any animations you've made do play but the video does not. Videos do play automatically when your watching your presentation in slideshow mode but not after exporting it to an MOV.

Videos set to play automatically do do so when exporting to video on Windows but this feature doesn't exist on the Macintosh. Thank you!

  11. Please put in show all slides on the presenter view

So, for some reason the navigation pane on the presenter view will only show the first seven slides and then I can't see any of the slides. So if I want to go back to some slide, I don't know what to click on cause I can't see it. I will be able to do this if I can see all slides, or if the mac PowerPoint has a show all slides button/icon like windows. Please put it in!!!

  12. When exported to pdf, all images in slides have grey outline

Recent issue I've noticed: Whenever I export my ppt file to PDF, all of the images I have included in the powerpoint have a grey outline around the image. It does not happen to any shapes I may have built in the pdf, only uploaded images.

  13. Exports to PDF are too Big

Even in low quality, a PDF export is 10 times larger than the source ppt.

  14. Bring the slide zoom feature back

Slide zoom was available for a short while in Powerpoint for Mac. But now it is no longer available. Bring it back.

  15. Add the ability to LOCK AN OBJECT not on a master page

ADD Layers, OR simply add a right click option to lock and unlock an object without having to put it on the master page.

How hard is this to do? I have hundreds of designers I work with daily who all prefer adobe over ppt because of this single feature.

  16. Icon Library Search

Search functionality in the icon library so we can quickly find what we are looking for rather than scrolling up and down the list.

  18. Using the mouse to scroll in the notes view also causes the page to change, rather than control the notes pane

When the mouse pointer is hovering over the notes pane, it should only scroll that pane up and down to view the slide notes, rather than automatically jumping up or down a page when it reaches either the top of bottom of the note.

  19. Provide option to reset SVG's to original colours

Say I insert an SVG icon to PowerPoint that has two colours - red + black. I then change the entire fill colour of that SVG icon to white. Further down the line I need to reset the colours to the original red + black. I would like a 'reset' button to revert the colours back to what they were when I inserted it.

  20. Allow a default table style to be set

The ability to set a default table style in a presentation is a major omission from PowerPoint. Currently when you insert a table it takes the formatting of one of the built-in table styles, which you can then change by choosing another one of the built-in styles.

Most brands require a specific format for their tables - e.g. a certain colour of header row, a certain style of borders, etc. It would be very helpful if these attributes could be baked into a template so that new tables automatically take on the correct styling.

Currently the only workaround for this…
