Add webcam and microphone options to "Record Silde Show" experience
The narration recording function is good but the actual face of the presenter cannot be videoed via the webcam on mac. This is available on the windows version and it seems an odd function to leave off the mac version as this is so widely used. It is really complicated, time consuming and potentially expensive to get this to work on mac due to having to purchase additional hardware/software.
554 votesWoo hoo! This one is also in progress and coming up via an update. Thanks for your patience. Remote learning has become incredibly important and we want to make sure you all have the right tools to succeed.

Bring back "Reuse slide" and allow formatting options when inserting slides
In Office for Mac 2011 (and for current Windows Users) one can choose to reuse a single slide (or 2, 3 etc) from another presentation and retain the original formatting. No more! With 2016 the user is forced to add ALL slides from the secondary presentation - and the formatting is automatically changed, too. For example, if you need 2 slides from a 100 slide presentation, all 100 slides are inserted and all formatting auto-changed to the receiving presentation. This renders the feature virtually useless and costs users a ton of time that wasn't previously required. The Microsoft Tech team…

Layers and locks.
Please add the ability to show/hide layers, as on any other design program. Also the ability to lock/unlock an item to avoid when group selecting. Use InDesign, and learn.

Add pen tools and Laser to record movement for "Record Slide Show" experience
Request coming from teachers who are doing remote learning during the pandemic.
Please add the ability to annotate while doing a presentation recording. This would be similar to Ink on windows. The feature existed with Mix but not available in PowerPoint 16.
355 votesGreat news!! We started the engineering work for this feature. We know that this is super important given the covid pandemic. We are working fast to light up an improved record slideshow experience for Office subscription customers. Stay tuned for updates.

Advanced Animation Timeline
Why is the Advanced Animation Timeline feature still not available in the latest version of Powerpoint for Mac? It's been available for PC s since 2016.

Add Gridlines and make Guide setup easier
Please make it easier, quicker and more accurate to setup grids and guides. It should be as simple as inputting number columns / rows and gutter width and they the guides would be created.
I currently create my gris in InDesign and then paste an image into PPT and create the guidelines one by one....

Make presenter window in presenter view scalable
In comparison to PP for Windows on Mac OS I'm missing a feature: When in presenter view I'd like to be able to resize the second window with the presenter comments etc. This is important for me since I need to be able to use the second screen for additional programs during presentation (e.g. S4B)

Enable changing source files of linked Excel charts from Powerpoint
When an excel chart is inserted in powerpoint the data och the chart is linked to an excel spreadsheet.
In the windows version it is possible to change the source file of the linked data. It is not possible to do this in powerpoint 2016 for Mac.

Support text wrapping around image
Please include the above capability. It's essential in this software and has been in all other versions or Word and, I believe, PPT.

Record mouse movement in "Record Slide Show" experience
Powerpoint in Mac needs to be able to record mouse movements and pen movements. Recordings are almost useless without these features

Add the functionality to use the iPhone or iPad as remote
Apple's Keynote makes it possible to use the iPhone as a remote and the iPad is the presentation device, for example. In PowerPoint, there is !no! possibility to use a device as a remote, and I think, this function should have been integrated much versions earlier! So please, implement it! It's really important to make a good presentation and I don't want to use third-party apps!

Customize Presenter View
Presenter View is an essential tool of Powerpoint helping us present with notes, a timer, a preview, and a slide overview. But many things remain to be improved. Join me in pushing for the following essential features and bug fixes.
1) Allow customization. Not everybody needs the same things from the Presenter View. Allow users to activate/inactivate elements to their needs.
2) Create a couple additional widgets for the Presenter View that fit less frequent user requirements like a countdown timer to end at a specific time, a slides left counter, a centralized notes field to be saved with the…

Customize Theme Fonts in Design tab & Slide Master experience
You can set your own fonts in text boxes created as part of Slide Masters in a template. However, you can't set the default fonts for the template as a whole, as you can on Windows.
So, when someone using the template adds a new text box to a slide the font defaults to a different font (Calibri as standard).
On Windows, the option of 'Customise Fonts' is in the 'Fonts' dropdown on the Slide Master tab.

General request - make all Power Point tools equal on PC and Mac.
Microsoft is selling limited version of PowerPoint 2019 on Mac charging the same or more money. There are plenty of tools and options not available on Macs, where are quite long available on PC. This is very unfair and I'm surprised that there is still no lawsuit against that company for tens and hundreds of millions $ for making faulty software. Im just going to promote that action in public so maybe in a short time we would see significant improvement of Mac version of Office, or MS will be sued for millions. In US, in EU, in UK, wherever…

Allow a default table style to be set
The ability to set a default table style in a presentation is a major omission from PowerPoint. Currently when you insert a table it takes the formatting of one of the built-in table styles, which you can then change by choosing another one of the built-in styles.
Most brands require a specific format for their tables - e.g. a certain colour of header row, a certain style of borders, etc. It would be very helpful if these attributes could be baked into a template so that new tables automatically take on the correct styling.
Currently the only workaround for this…

Allow ungrouping of charts for powerful design
It used to be possible with Powerpoint for the Mac to ungroup charts from Excel. This was a crucial power feature to customize and design charts beyond the fixed default format of Excel. A very useful function indeed.
Unfortunately, this is no longer possible on the Mac even though using the Enhanced Metafile format it still seems to work on Windows.
Bring back chart ungrouping, so we can make professional and personal charts again using Powerpoint. Excel and PPT formats are too limited and don't satisfy the requirements of many companies and publishers. Re-enabling chart ungrouping would make Office much…
