Automated image editing for comparison of "before-after" images.
Powerpoint would automatically offer to adjust the editing functions (zoom, crop, pan, tags etc.) of "after" image to that of "before" image.
When presenting in radiology it is important to present before-after images in the most consistent way; when I present an image of a brain at a baseline study and after six months, I want the two images to fit to each other as much as possible, almost like it's the same image, so the audience can focus on the differences between the two. To allow them focusing on only the relevant differences, we need to get rid of the irrelevant (i.e. distracting) differences, such as different image size, contrast, zoom etc. Therefore every property-pairs of the two images should fit to each other as good as possible: two images of the same region from the same view, zoomed, panned, cropped and enhanced the same way - allowing the best possible comparison and aesthetic. Today this process is time consuming and tiring in the powerpoint, especially if you really care about the quality of your presentation. If this could be done in an automated and fast way, that would make every radiologist very, very happy.
I'm thinking about something like you would be able to create "before-after" image pairs, e.g. as a function of image editing by labeling the first image "before" and the second "after", or through a layout template.
