Add support for SVG and icons
Allow ability to insert and edit scalable vector graphics (SVG) files into your documents on Mac. I used to be able to insert .emf files and then ungroup them into shapes which I could edit. It's very frustrating that there is no option for this now on the Mac.
As of April 2018, Insert Icons and SVG support are now available in Office 2016 for Mac.
To insert an icon in Office 2016 for Mac: Go to the Insert > Insert Icon. Scroll through the icons or jump to a category by clicking the name in the navigation pane at the left. Choose an icon and then click Insert at the lower right. Insert multiple icons at the same time by clicking each of them before clicking Insert. Use the Graphics Tools ribbon to rotate, color, change style or resize your icon.
To insert an SVG file in Office 2016 for Mac: Go to Insert > Pictures > Picture from file to insert your SVG images.

This is a must add function. How could you not add this to Mac?
PLEASE GIVE MAC USERS SVG ICONS
Why does the Windows version have built-in icon support but Mac doesn't?
Henrik Johansson commented
Yeah, please. I hate having to convert all the time.

Hope it comes quickly...
Definitely you should improve it introducing the functionality (Svg. icon) for PowerPoint as you have already done on windows.

Would love this feature, so much so I have Paralles Window installed to go to the Windows version just when I need to do this!
This would be great to have! My boss has it for presentations, and I can't use it.

Absolutely need this functionality, I work in Illustrator all day and have to keep jumping back and forth between mac to windows to just keep my vector artwork editable in powerpoint.
Agree. This is sorely needed!
In Office 2016 for Mac, you can directly suggest that to Microsoft: just click on the smiley icon on the upper right corner and fill in the comment. Please take the time to do that!
This will be game changing! Please add this feature to the Mac version.
I would like to be able to use SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) files in PowerPoint for Mac 2016 but this feature is not available. I am surprised it is not possible, considering the SVG is a growing (in popularity) file format. From what I understand, it is available for Windows so I hope Microsoft will provide this function soon.
Recently Windows version of Powerpoint got an amazing update, which lets us to add icons into a presentation without going through a tedious web search/import process.
Unfortunately, Mac version didn't get this update, and, considering that icons are an important part of any modern presentation, I, as many other users out there, feel cheated.
Could you please implement the same "Insert Icon" functionality for the Mac version?
I try to avoid using any microsoft products exactly because of issues like this.designers hate using your tools, and you don't give us any good reason to do so.
I can´t believe you have to go to a PC in order to ungroup and then to a mac. What if I don´t have a PC???
This is ridiculous.

Bill, did you see this about making it work in Mc PowerPoint? This guy has basically done all the ungrouping in PPT for Windows, then regrouped and transferred the file to his Mac PPT, which can then ungroup it. I wish I had a PC to do this with, but if you use a work PC, you should be able to do it.
John Korchok commented
Not just Illustrator objects, ungrouping should work with any vector format (EPS, PDF, EMF, WMF, etc.)
I am a teacher and I work every day with powerpoint. I am disappointed with this issue. This is not only important for the designers but also for teachers who do not normally work with editing programs.
