Add support for SVG and icons
Allow ability to insert and edit scalable vector graphics (SVG) files into your documents on Mac. I used to be able to insert .emf files and then ungroup them into shapes which I could edit. It's very frustrating that there is no option for this now on the Mac.
As of April 2018, Insert Icons and SVG support are now available in Office 2016 for Mac.
To insert an icon in Office 2016 for Mac: Go to the Insert > Insert Icon. Scroll through the icons or jump to a category by clicking the name in the navigation pane at the left. Choose an icon and then click Insert at the lower right. Insert multiple icons at the same time by clicking each of them before clicking Insert. Use the Graphics Tools ribbon to rotate, color, change style or resize your icon.
To insert an SVG file in Office 2016 for Mac: Go to Insert > Pictures > Picture from file to insert your SVG images.

I've been enjoying the new version up to discovering this....

Yes, this would make designers want to work more in powerpoint bc clients need to be able to edit. Huge advantage if MS could make this work!
I was so upset to discover that this option is not available on PowerPoint Mac version. How it is possible to continue your work on a project, if you have a PC in the office and Mac at home. PLease add this option as soon as possible.

Agreed, this is NEEDED. Many designers work on Mac and to have to go over to a PC is ridiculous. Prioritize your mac software too!
This is desperately needed!
Desperate for this feature.
PLEASE do this soon, its badly needed!

This is BADLY needed.
Yes please! This would be MOST useful. I have only recently changed from PC PowerPoint to PowerPoint from Mac and it is so frustrating that I can no longer do this. I'm using up all my votes for this to help bump it up the queue! :-)
To be able to insert a vector file created in Illustrator in PowerPoint and be able to ungroup the vector so the vector shape can be coloured within PowerPoint. At the moment this can only be done on a PC version of PowerPoint.
