Complete spell checking just like in Word
The spell-checking feature in PowerPoint isn’t as complete as Word. Spell checking should be through across all office programs.
Thanks for taking the time to submit feedback! In our latest version of PowerPoint, we do allow you to use spell check throughout the entire document by default.
To do this, go to the “Review” tab and then select “Spelling”. Hope this helps! :)
This is related to https://powerpoint.uservoice.com/forums/288925-powerpoint-for-mac/suggestions/11538744-fix-language-setting-issues-and-user-experience which is falsely marked as completed. The problem of language setting persists. Still no way to change an entire presentation; still no inheritance of languages set in the master slide layouts. Big thumbs down.
With teams passing Powerpoint back and forth, prior members can ignore typos in a spell check and future spell checks will not catch. Need this function in PPT Mac version.

On Powerpoint for Mac 2016 (version 15.19.1), I cannot successfully change the language of a presentation. My system language is Spanish, so all of the words in my presentations are automatically assumed to be in Spanish. However, I most often make Powerpoints in English and want to be able to spellcheck them in English. Even when I change the default language in Powerpoint, or highlight a slide and go through the process to change the language, it stays in Spanish. (I try to change the language using the instructions here: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Check-spelling-and-grammar-in-a-different-language-in-Office-2016-for-Mac-0554be72-cd0e-49bd-a112-70ae2f0bf093?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US). The only way this works is if I manually change the language of every paragraph. That is an enormous waste of time and not reasonable. How can I change the language of the entire presentation successfully? Thank you!
