PowerPoint 2019 for Mac ISSUES - FLAWS - BUGS - Is there a way to overcome or fix them?
Feedback for PowerPoint 2019 version 16.23.1 (19032603) on macOS 10.12.6 (16G1918) Sierra, using powerful iMac: 27‑inch Retina 5K display, Intel Core i7 4.2 GHz, 40 GB RAM, Apple SSD SM2048L 2 TB (Samsung):
1.-All Microsoft Office applications should have the same interface, as much as possible. The current implementation is chaotic. Some examples are described below.
2. Cannot select discontinuous text in PowerPoint, as possible with Word. That is extremely useful to select and change many text selections at once.
Cannot change language of all slides in a presentation at once. That is useful if you make a presentation with many slides and text boxes, and later on you discover that it was created with a wrong default language.
PowerPoint does not automatically change custom dictionary language when checking spelling after "Tools - Spelling" in mixed texts with two languages like English and Spanish, as possible with Word. Instead, it always shows the same custom dictionary, even when the selected word being checked belongs to a different language.
Sometimes, PowerPoint considers accented words as two words, after selecting "Tools - Spelling". Instead of selecting the full accented word, it highlights only a part of the word before the accent, and then when resuming or continuing spell checking, PowerPoint highlights the part of the word after the accent. In other words, PowerPoint considers such accented word as two words. You must re-type the accented word for it to work as expected, which is not convenient and time consuming. Of course, the accented word is correct and is set with the correct language, like Spanish.
6.-It would be great if PowerPoint showed the name of inserted picture or movie. That is extremely useful to find it in the disk later on, if required.
7.-It would be better if "Playback - Start Automatically" was the default for all animations and movies. Or at least if that could be configured for all inserted media.
That is all for now.
The issues remain with Office 2019 for Mac version 16.29.1 (19091700) on macOS 10.12.6 (16G2128) Sierra.
