Create a new type of grouping called Matrix
As a marketing professional, I often use slides that show a group view of partners/customers displaying their logos. Like a matrix.
I tried to do it with a table but, unlike in Word, it is not possible to paste a picture inside a table cell, only to set it as a background for the cell, which is part of the formatting and does not allow for easy reallocation using copy/paste
Every time a new partner has to be added/removed, I have to manually rearrange the entire matrix of logos, and then realign vertically and horizontally. It is very time consuming.
It would be much easier if Powerpoint had a new matrix object that behaved like a text box, only instead of characters, each element would be an object or group. Then it would be possible to resize and redimension the element and the matrix would automatically rearrange on the screen.
The behavior would not be very different to how tables are managed, allowing the user to insert elements at any position. But instead of a fixed number of rows and columns, we could resize the entire object in two ways:
-absolute (shrink and grow, with the contents scaling, like a regular group does)
-rearrange (where the table would automatically rearrange the components like a text box does with the text).
