  1. Provide full feature parity with Windows PPT

It would be really great if all the options that one finds on the PC version were also available on the Mac version

Thanks again for your feedback! The PowerPoint Product team has been actively working to close the feature gap between the different PowerPoint endpoints, most recently bringing features found in WinPPT like real time collaboration, trim media, QuickStarter, and Trim Media to the Mac platform.

As we continue to bring over more WinPPT features to MacPPT, we will use this site to help us prioritize the work. If there is a specific feature from WinPPT that you would like to see on MacPPT, be sure to vote for it!

  2. Improve Saving FailSafe's

You guys NEED to have a better system for making sure people's stuff doesn't get wiped. I was working on a PowerPoint for a day, and it kept saying that some of the slides I'd used were read only, and that I should overwrite the file. I kept overwriting my presentation (seemingly successfully), but when I closed out of the file I lost ALL the changes. I just got back form hospital because I broke my knuckles -- I was THAT angry. There was no AutoSave file - nothing. I'd worked on a DropBox but it didn't even save temporarily,…

Thanks for your feedback! Now, Office 365 will save your changes as you make them with our new AutoSave feature, so you never have to worry about losing your changes and you’ll be able to access them from anywhere. Simply store your files in OneDrive and make sure the AutoSave toggle at the top left is turned on. Additionally, when AutoSave is on, you’ll be able to collaborate with others in real-time.

Thanks for your feedback! This issue is now fixed in PowerPoint for Mac 2016.

Remember, this site helps us to prioritize our backlog so the more votes a suggestion gets, the more likely it is that we’ll do it. If this is a feature that is important to you, be sure to give it a vote!

  4. Add a report a bug button

How about a button where you can report bugs in your software? Given that your internet presence is to put it mildly: horrifyingly bad, why not add a button under the 'help' section where you can report a bug in your program. I do understand that it may look bad on the surface to have have a 'report a bug in our program' button as it implies that there are lot of bugs in the program. But once you discover one as a customer, it does really help you to further improve your software. In addition, it saves me from…

  5. PowerPoint QuickStarter

Please, add the new fetaure PowerPoint QuickStarter in the Mac version too.
PowerPoint QuickStarter builds you an outline to help you get started researching a subject of your choosing.

  7. Add words to custom dictionary

DANGER - PowerPoint 2016 for Mac spell checker does not change custom dictionary to Add words!!!

The issue reported here was fixed:
PowerPoint 2016 for Mac spell checker does not Add words to custom dictionary
    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msofficepowerpoint-msomac/powerpoint-2016-for-mac-spell-checker-does-not-add/42729402-f9c9-488b-9360-90b9129eb6be

But further to that, I have noticed that when "Tools - Spelling" to Add words, PowerPoint 2016 version 15.31.0 (170216) does not automatically select the correct custom dictionary in "Add words to". Word does it right, but PowerPoint fails as said.

This is particularly dangerous, since you may add words to the wrong custom dictionary, for instance when you work with English…

  8. Support OSX paste as plain text shortcut

OSX has offered for a long time a paste as plain text short cut.

You can use Shift + Option + Command + V to paste without formatting (or with whatever format the pasted text is placed into)

In office however this doesn't work and there's no hotkey to paste special.

Please consider adding this to the entire office suite.

  10. Better autosave feature

I just lost a whole bunch of information on a powerpoint for school, even some info on slides I had saved manually. It'd be great if we could have a feature that would at least put the recovered file into a new folder in 'Documents' or something so that if the recovered files aren't able to open, they'll at least be saved in another folder, and still be able to be easy to get through.

  13. Garbled Symbol font after opening file with PowerPoint 2016 for Mac

Garbled Symbol font after opening file with PowerPoint 2016 for Mac.

Font showed OK with PowerPoint 2016 version 15.19.1.160212 for Mac, but when the file is open with PowerPoint 2016 15.21.1.160411 for Mac they show garbled.

Apple FontBook and FontGear FontDoctor find no problem. Mac OS X 10.11.4 (15E65) El Capitan.

I have found that changing Symbol font by Symbol Tiger or Symbol Tiger Expert font fixes the issue and then font shows OK. Amazing!

How to fix it to show OK also using Symbol font? Or is this a PowerPoint 2016 15.21.1.160411 for Mac bug?  In such a case, I hope it is fixed in next update. Thanks.

  14. Please add full RTL support for PowerPoint on the Mac (Arabic, Hebrew, etc.)

We are subscribers of the Office 365 and some members of the family are on Windows and others are on the Mac. We can't believe that in 2016 Microsoft does not support RTL languages (Arabic, Hebrew and such) on the Mac!!!!! This is such a basic requirement of the top productivity tool in the world. Please don't send us looking for alternatives. This applies to Word, Excel and Outlook too and I will post the same request for these tools as well.

  15. Allow to safe PowerPoint slides directly in pdf format

In earlier versions it was possible to safe presentations in pdf format (Save under--->ppt). In the 2016 version you can do it for Word and Excel but not for PP. You have to use the export function for it.

  16. Easier text in table editing

Using tables with text in cell is great to make "clean" boxes. However, today, we have to work 1 cell at a time.
It would be easier however to select text in multiple cells and define formatting (bullet, font, indent, line spacing... )

Also, I would love to have - like in Excel - a 45° text orientation on the first table raw.

  18. Draw table

In insert table there is no possibility to draw it, as in Word.

I must say I am really deceived with Office Mac 2016. Office Mac 2011 was more complete. Why don't keep same functions?

    Best regards,

    Peter

  19. Allow opening presentations shared from OneDrive

As near as I can tell there is no way to open a presentation that has been shared with you through OneDrive for Business from within the Powerpoint 2016 client app. I am connected to my Office 365 account and can open my own docs from the cloud but the app cannot access documents in the "Shared with Me" tab. I have to go online, log in, find the shared presentation, and click Open in Powerpoint. Quite a few extra steps!

  20. Full Quick Access Toolbar support for Office for Mac 2016

PC QAT is a boon and better than customizing PPT for Mac 11, now we have neither option. It would be great if the exported QAT files would work across MAC and PC but that is a minor issue compared to being able to create a QAT and move it under the ribbon like in the PC versions.
