  1. Print current selection from context menu of the thumbnails in Normal view or from the Slide Sorter.

    I often want to print a subset of the slides in a presentation. I'd like to be able to select the slides in either the thumbnail column of the Normal view or from the Slide Sorter view then right-click and choose "Print selection" from the context menu. This currently requires five mouse clicks but could be reduced to two.

    • PresenterView timer displaying by how much I'm ahead/behind schedule

      From my experience with presentations, I think the most useful device to help me keep to the total alloted time is to keep time at the level of each slide, relative to the timing I've set for each slide while rehearsing.

      Ideally, I would like to be able to do the following:

      1) for each slide in my presentation, set a certain time that it ideally takes to describe it in the live presentation; I know this can be done with the Rehearse Timings feature, but what Powerpoint cannot do is the next step...

      • Save printing option ‘Print Ink’ (check/no check) in each file

        Would be nice to not have to uncheck it every time I print.

        • Save "speak" file with power point slide show

          Many folks have lost their ability to speak. Using a PowerPoint Slideshow with imported text for word it can be made to read allowed but it is not saved with the slideshow making it available to use in a group or teacher setting. What a wonderful tool this would be.

          • ability to play single audio track across multiple slides

            Would like to see the ability to play a single audio track across multiple slides, be able to select which slides it plays across continuously, which slides to pause and resume sound (incl. in the middle of the track)

            • Animation: Delay before repeating

              In an animation that's set to repeat, I like to add a delay before the animation repeats again, instead of waiting for the whole animation to finish then immediately begin again.

              (eg. Shapes beating where the animation needs to be fast but needs to be spaced to, for example, the tempo of the song.)

              • Loop Slideshow checkbox on Ribbon

                Add "[ ] Loop Slideshow" checkbox to the Ribbon under Slide Show. We shouldn't have to to go to the old Set Up Slide Show Dialog.

                • Run in background / without window focus

                  Currently when the presentation window loses focus, PowerPoint pauses. It would be great if it could continue to run all animations, timed animations, video clips when the window loses focus (applicable to multi-screen displays).

                      • The ability to import a PDF like a Photo Album, where each PDF page becomes a separate slide.

                        At the moment, if we are given a PDF to run at an event we have to run it separately from PPT.
                        It would be great to be able to import it into PPT and have each page of the PDF populate a separate slide like the Photo Album feature.

                        • Gradient of color /across/ shapes (similar to SmartArt Design styles/colors, but user accessible for other shapes)

                          When you insert smartart and go to the Design ribbon, there are some options where you can change colors (accent type or different color schemes). For example, each shape might be a different shade of green from light green to dark green.

                          Often, SmartArt isn't the ideal solution and users create multi-shape images to visually communicate a message.                             in Powerpoint 2010 we could use Clipart and customize it to include company graphics, which were indexed and thus searchable via keywrds.
                            That allowed our users to create a presentation with our company's concepts and graphics.
                            Starting in PowerPoint 2013 this option was removed, and replaced by 2 options:
                            1. The Bing online search for images and clip-arts (which searches for generally available graphics on the Internet)
                            2. Connect to the user's OneDrive and add files from there. (which are personal user files)

                              • Enable Onedrive for business account within PowerPoint for data import

                                Enable Onedrive for business account within the desktop application of PowerPoint so our users can insert files they already saved in the cloud (images as an example). We can't ask them to switch between accounts, also we don't want to have data saved outside the onedrive for business accounts owned by the company.

                                • Create a reverse highlight/ mask shape property

                                  See http://technotoolbox.blogspot.com/2009/09/creating-masks-in-powerpoint.html for an example of what I'm trying to describe. There are at least three ways to accomplish this (I use merge shapes/fragment, which looks good but is not editable afterwards)

                                  Suggestion: make this a built-in feature, where it is easier to edit when the underlying content changes.

                                  Possible implementation: be able to tag shapes as "mask" and "clear". If a "clear" shape is above any "mask" shapes in z-order, simply treat that portion of the mask shape(s) as 100% transparent (I assume the "clear" shape is actually set to "no fill", although maybe there is a use case…

                                    At a prior employer, we had some VBA code that would turn each slide into an image, and paste them all into a Word template (inside a table) where the slide image was in the left column, and we created the instructions in the right column. The template was used to create the facilitator guide (for train-the-trainer). At some point in time the PowerPoint or Word object model changed and it quit working,

                                    • Have an Agenda slide type

                                      I use agenda slides where I have the topics I will present. I copy these slides and highlight the next topic. When I change something in the agenda, I have to copy and change all the other slides.
                                      How about creating a "agenda slide" where you can put in you topics. When you copy/refer to them, you only need to select the line you want to highlight.
                                      When you edit one slide text, all the other slides are changed also.

                                        • Show animation number during Presentation View

                                          During Presentation View, add an option to enable showing the number for the current animation in the corner during a presentation. For example, on a slide with 3 animations, show "2" in a box in the corner of the screen when the second animation gets triggered.

                                          This is helpful when running through a presentation and making sure everything lines up. The Animation Pane is a nice first-level view, but since it auto-plays all animations (or every animation from a selected point), it's hard to see the how the slide would look when presented (especially with pauses between animations).
