  1. Configuring how total number of slides is displayed on slides (ex. 1 of 10)

PowerPoint allows me to insert slide numbers. I'd like to be able to have it worded as "2 (of 12)", "3 (of 12)", etc.

    Feature variations:
    - #
    - # of #
    - slide # of #

Ability to not show count on hidden slides.

  2. Allow for portrait and landscape orientation in the same presentation

When creating a new presentation, users should be able to alternate between landscape and portrait slide orientation in the same file, similar to how Word allows this. Forcing portrait or landscape makes users have to create multiple presentations and then splice them together outside of PowerPoint.

  3. Introduce Saving a Table Template in PowerPoint

Provide the ability to save table design templates (similarly to how chart design templates are saved). This would cut out the need to use a separate programme like AvoPress and allow consistent tables throughout the deck.

  4. Lock placeholder and other objects to prevent modification

Lock placeholder and objects and its preferences so they cant be modified in any way. Also make option to autofit och manually crop the added items like images to image placeholder.

Lock dont need to be permanent. But if you want to undo the lock you have to rightclick on object and "unlock".

Why do we need this? To create templates that follow certain guidelines and rules that your company, organisation, school etc have. This would prevent the user to accidently move an object on the created presentation or tutorial.

  5. Add a Column Break command for multiple column text boxes

Currently in a multiple column text box, one has to add extra spaces to force a line into the second column, why not have a column break command in PPT as there is in Word

  6. Text wrapping

Please include text wrap around for pictures, tables and other objects. Why would you include wrapping in other office products but not Power Point?

  7. NDI output support for PowerPoint

I'd like to recommend a feature to be added to the PowerPoint application. NDI is a high quality, low latency professional video IP format that I think would be a good addition to this application. I would allow you to share the output of PowerPoint on other peoples computer using a free NDI Monitor application or send the output into professional video production solutions.

The Skype team at Microsoft has added NewTek NDI support into their product. PowerPoint would be the next product that I think should be enhanced with this royalty free technology. You can learn more about NDI…

  8. Continuous scrolling between slides/ Don't jump to next slide when zoomed in

I'd like to be able to scroll down one slide and have part of the next one come up under it, instead of jumping entirely to the next slide. Often when I've zoomed a slide for detail work, I get too close to the bottom margin and suddenly I'm on another slide.

  9. Clipart

in Powerpoint 2010 we could use Clipart and customize it to include company graphics, which were indexed and thus searchable via keywrds.
That allowed our users to create a presentation with our company's concepts and graphics.
Starting in PowerPoint 2013 this option was removed, and replaced by 2 options:
    1. The Bing online search for images and clip-arts (which searches for generally available graphics on the Internet)
    2. Connect to the user's OneDrive and add files from there. (which are personal user files)
Both of these options do not deliver what we need, which is a centrally managed (add /…

  10. Improved inking experience within slides

Inking in PowerPoint is an incredibly important tool for capturing feedback and marking up slides (way more effective than a laser pointer). Ink is a very important way to engage with an audience. However, the in-slide ink experience is very poor generally and needs improvements such as:

    1. Effective palm rejection - accidental touch pen artifacts and unexpected slide advances are common when presenting with touch and pen.

    2. More Colors: In PowerPoint 2007 you could select from a large set of colors in the pen palette while presenting. The current limited set appeared in PP2010 and has not changed since.

  11. Slide Library Management

Add the ability to export, search, and import individual slides from a slide library (file folder). Each export should include the ability to add one or more tags to make it easier to find a slide to import. The search functionality and import browser should show the slides so that you can easily view the slide before importing it.

  12. Show hidden Characters

To make editing an reviewing presentations produced by someone lese more efficiant and convieniant it would be a huge improvement to be enabled to make the hidden Characters, such as Paragraph, Linebreak, Tabstopp and so, visible. Comparable with Word and Outlook (powered by Word).

Its not efficiant to copy everything to word, to have a general overview how the slides had been produced.

Many thanks for your votes in advance.

  13. Changing Language to apply to all slides.

We share PowerPoint documents with Canada, and many times the language is not set to English, it is set to French. It shows many spelling errors in spellcheck and I can't set the language back to English to all slides at once. Each text box requires an individual language. I tried changing to outline mode and it still did not change. Sorry, I shouldn't have to set a macro to change the language in a presentation.

  14. change units from inches to pixels

Please give the option to change the units (globally) from inches to pixels - way more useful to think that way with a digital-only presentation.

  15. See all slides presentation view

I love the fact that I can see all slides in the presentation view, but every time I click one of the slides, it kicks me outta that view. Can't I just use only that view? Make it stay or at least a setting or option to keep it there.

  16. Automatically advance to next slide after triggered animation

It would be nice to have an option to automatically transition to the next slide after click-triggered animations have played.

  17. Add support for ligatures

Ligatures for Open Type fonts are supported in Word, but not available in Powerpoint. Especially with large fonts, ligatures can improve slides visually. Adding the "advanced" font features from Word to Powerpoint would benefit Powerpoint greatly!

Let me right click any object and lock it in place to avoid selection, movement and changes of any kind.

  19. Problem with PowerPoint 2016 - no longer able to select multiple hyperlinks from Excel to PP to either update or break them

Upgraded from PowerPoint 2010 to 2016 (Win 7, 64-bit), but now I'm no longer able to select multiple hyperlinks from Excel to PP to either update or break. Please fix!

  20. total run time

As a brand new PowerPoint user, it's possible that I've missed something but I have researched this and can't find a solution. I find it baffling that after animating my slides and placing slide transitions, that PP can't tell me the total run time of the project. Why do I have to watch the entire project and time it with a stop watch (or watch it on two monitors so that I can see the running timer) to find out how long my project is? Shouldn't PP be able to calculate the animations and transitions and give a total run…
