Update a presentation while presenting
As someone who uses PowerPoint for a school competition, I would like to be able to edit slides further into the presentation while I am in presenter mode. This will allow me to have one slideshow deck, presenting on a laptop and projector, while on either the same laptop or on a different computer through OneDrive, update slides ahead of me with winners information, etc. this allows me to deliver a higher quality presentation for the hundreds of students involved in our competition.
Thank you for voting up this request! We are proud to announce that you can now synchronize content changes during slideshow! Update to the latest version of PowerPoint and give it a try.
Check out this blog post for more information
Again, thank you for your support! Keep voting for other features on your wish list :)

Many, many, many times, people present in editing mode. I believe this is done primarily because they can easily scroll through thumbnails of slides, or perhaps edit during discussion. However, as a viewer I am left looking at all the menus and other chrome.
Presenters need some enticement to actually enter presentation mode, a bigger presentation mode button (ala Material Design primary button), slide thumbnails during presentation, ability to do simple editd in place while presenting.
I run live events from both Mac and Windows OS and need the ability to edit slides/deck while in presentation mode.
Is this still no possible??? PLEASEEEEE Please implement!!!!
@anthony, If possible, perhaps update the title of this idea to include "mac", "timed", "video" etc. Or whatever does not work for you This works great on PC / Sharepoint. I present every week with multiple people updating while I am presentation mode.

As noted by Greg below, when switching back to edit the presentation, do not interrupt video, audio, or timed slides! Clicking outside Presenter view should not interrupt the presentation. Computers are supposed to multitask!

At a minimum, I'd love to be about to update the slide notes.
Absolutely necessary for professional use. Please implement!
Please! Works on PC, but not on mac (use both). Unable to minimize presenter mode or show task bar. Only option is to end the presentation completely. :(

Yes, editing slides while presenting would be great (on Mac)! Please implement this!
Editing slides while presenting on another projection is possible for Windows.
However, this is not possible with Mac. I've looked into forums and Q&A's, no such solution.
It will be great if this is made available for MAC too.
I'm using Office 365 on a Mac
While it's possible to display the presentation and edit it at the same time, unfortunately this currently pauses the slideshow. So for example if the slideshow is auto-advancing, as soon as you switch away and begin editing, the show stops auto-advancing. It also seems like the presenter cannot advance the slideshow manually while someone is editing. I'd like to see the ability for someone to edit the show while the presenter maintains complete control through a "clicker". I'd like to see the ability for the show to continue playing (on auto-advance) while someone is editing upcoming slides. As far as I can tell, this is not currently possible.
You can do that with existing version. In presenter mode, just switch back to your usual ppt slides view , make changes, return back to your presenter mode and it's updated as you make the changes.
