Adjust the transparency on text boxes
I am using PowerPoint to design book covers, and would like to be able to lighten the fill % on a text box, so that cover copy is more easily read against the background photo. I can adjust the transparency on the background image, but want to leave that alone and just lighten the area where the text appears.
You can currently do this in the product.
- Place your text box on top of the background image
- Right click the text box and select Format Shape
- Change the fill to a color. If you want to lighten the image choose a white fill, for a darker look fill the shape with black
- At the bottom of the fill section you'll see a transparency slider, adjust that to control the transparency of the box.
If you want a similar effect with text you repeat the same steps only you want to be in the Text Options section of the task pane instead of Shape Options.
I hope this helps!
