Protect the Master Slide(s) only
am developing some slides that require a variety of placeholders and animations designed to create complex effects. I create those in the slide master, so that I have a variety of models available in a click. Is it then possible to make the slides available to end-users without them being able to access the slide master? Basically, I want them to use the slides as they wish, but not to be able to view and edit the master. I am not sure it is possible. but thought I would ask anyway.

You can lock shapes by editing the XML. No need to prevent viewing, since the shapes are not editable. Here's how: http://www.brandwares.com/bestpractices/2016/09/xml-hacking-locking-graphics/

This is absolutely needed for some organizations, where people needs to create corporate presentations but stick to the corporate design. We have seen many of our presentations go totally non-compliant with our design lines because people start manipulating the slide master, copy&pasting slides from other sources, and our designers' work goes down the toilet.
