How can we improve PowerPoint for Windows (Desktop Application)? Vote for an existing idea or share a new one.

Allow editing of an embedded spreadsheet during a live webinar.

Allow editing of an embedded spreadsheet during a live webinar. Working from a second screen it will be great if we could make changes to the spreadsheet which reflect on a live presentation. Currently when a range of the spreadsheet is pasted special as a Microsoft Excel worksheet object, changes can be made in the spreadsheet that reflect into the presentation. As soon as PowerPoint is changed from an editing mode to a presentation mode the spreadsheet closes and further changes cannot be made. Excel should remain open.

I just came to submit the same suggestion- I have an upcoming meeting where we want to capture some data from the room 'live' and convert it to a graph for them to see onscreen. If there was a way to link those (embedded) Excel cells to some type of editable text box in presentation mode, then users could create much more interactive/integrated presentations

The alternative is to bounce out of the presentation to a separate Excel instance, or, exit presentation mode, click to edit the graph source, put in the data, save/exit back to PPT, then go back to presentation mode- not at all a smooth experience for the audience
