Export to Video with embedded videos included.
Currently, Powerpoint does not play embedded videos in the exported video file. Only the audio gets played. This feature needs to be updated so that both video and audio files embedded in the powerpoint presentation can be viewed in the exported video.
There are several work arounds
1) Start a meeting on Zoom.
2) Share screen with Audio capture on << find the option on the screen
3) Start Recording
4) Play the Powerpoint
5) End the Recording and the Zoom meeting
Use a screen capture program.
I am using StreamLabs OBS to capture the Display as a source
1) Start OBS
2) Add Display Capture as a source
3) Add Sound Output as a source
4) Start PowerPoint on the display (I am using two displays. If you only have one display, capture Window instead)
5) Start recording on OBS
6) Start Playback on PowerPoint
7) End Recording on OBS
It is such a shame that MS neglects the features that users need, until they lose market share.
Has anyone tried playing the presentation while using some kind of screen recording? I’m debating looking into that possibility next. Gamers and YouTubers do that kind of thing all the time.... I’m wondering what they do to make it work.....
I agree ... 100%
We found this out after converting our child’s work into a mov. File ....we were trying to send an assignment to teachers... to only find out that no Audio or external links or sounds will play with the video.... ridiculous... not to mention Boring.. to allow it to be part of it of it won’t convert to a mov. Or mp4 file to send back an share the links attached to the presentation.
We need this now more than ever. Help us provide lessons to our students during this trying time!
This situation is very SAD. So many great educational tools to share and one can't share them in a presentation to educators. It cuts the effectiveness of the presentation and learning by quite a bit! Please fix this.
I also cannot get embedded external videos (ie, YouTube) to play once I've converted my .ppt slideshow to .mp4. They will play in slideshow mode (had to do tweaking to the embed code for autoplay), but not when converted. Very frustrating. Converting to an mp file should technically work since you're 'snap shooting' any images, videos, etc., in the file.. Again, frustrating.. and most likely an easy coding fix on the software end of things..
please make this work.
Being able to play imbedded videos is important for a lot of presentations, especially when doing training videos or preparing archival presentations. Please add this.
