Countdown timer for embedded videos on presenter screen
As a show tech for corporate events I use PowerPoint daily on big screen presentations. One thing I would find very useful would be a countdown timer on presenter view screen (displaying remaining time left on VT) for embedded videos.

+100 for countdown and ideally playback controls for media in Presenter View. There are many situations where it would be incredibly useful to control playback and prepare for the end of a media clip.

As an AV tech myself also, I quite regularly get given presentations last minute with embedded videos and with no time for practice runs I am left guessing the end of the vt before bringing up the lights and mics etc. A simple countdown to by end would be invaluable for a smoother presentation! Playback controls a nice addition but not as important as knowing when the vt will end :-)

Would love to see a live countdown feature (for this slidedeck or for a related event, etc.). We're trying to embed a countdown timer from Time & Date (https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown), but PPT won't do this either. (see also suggestion for embedding live or streaming video)

Absolutely!
I've been running shows with a hardware countdown, and it makes everything seamless.
having it within PPT would make a great software invaluable. -

Definitely! I've been hoping for years Microsoft would consider implementing just a media playback controls section on the presenter view, say with a scrub bar, time remaining (possibly integrated on the scrub) and play/pause.
Wouldn't take up too much room, could go in line with the slide forward/back buttons or in the column with the next slide and speaker notes. I think this would make the life of every professional tech/theatre volunteer so much easier, along with even just everyday presenters who rely on media.
