Add line spacing options to tighten line
On the Home tab there is a Line Spacing button in the Paragraph group. Click it and you see options for line spacing of
I don't know about you, but I have never in my life used a double- or triple-spaced line in PowerPoint.
I have, however, used .8, .85, .9 and .95, and I use them a lot. Why are these not options on the Line Spacing dialog in PowerPoint? Why must I click Line Spacing Options at the bottom of that menu and go through another dialog to change from Single to Multiple and input my values?
Thanks for taking the time to write feedback. We now support this in our desktop app. Under the “Home” tab, within the “Paragraph” section select the drop down for line spacing and then select “Line Spacing Options”. This will open a new window that will allow you to change from “Single” to “Multiple” and input your own values.
In an older version of Power Point there was an even better interface for dealing with this... There was an increase line space button and a decrease line spacing button (similar to increase/decrease font size). That way you could decrease by five clicks, say "oops too much," increase by two clicks, etc. This allowed you to quickly toggle between spacing values/settings and see which you preferred. Why they switched to the newer interface is beyond me... it's painful to use and not very intuitive, and I agree with the other comments. I have never wanted to use something greater than "1".

I use .9, .95, 1, 1.05, 1.1. Mostly .95. Great idea! Love to save clicks.

That is an EXCELLENT suggestion. I would be SO HAPPY if this one came to be. :)
Yes! I use 0.8 and 0.85 all the time!
In addition to this, the line spacing before and after options are not easily accessible. I adjust these all the time and you have to go in and out of the paragraph tab for each line in text box.
In Word you can put the spacing before and after tool in the quick access toolbar, but these are not even listed as available commands in PP!

Agreed! Either make the increments smaller or customizable. I too use .9, .95 and even 1.1 more than any other setting. And why is this dialog box separate from the Format Shape Text Box entries?

Agree! Never in my life have I used spacing more than 1.5, but daily I need .8, .85. 9 and .95...

A spinner and/or text box to enter line spacing would be helpful.
