  1. lock shape or text in the slide, to stop by mistake moving.

the selection in the ppt is smart, but sometimes we move things not like to move it, so i suggest to add option in the drawing tools can make a shape or text box locked to move

  2. NDI output support for PowerPoint

I'd like to recommend a feature to be added to the PowerPoint application. NDI is a high quality, low latency professional video IP format that I think would be a good addition to this application. I would allow you to share the output of PowerPoint on other peoples computer using a free NDI Monitor application or send the output into professional video production solutions.

The Skype team at Microsoft has added NewTek NDI support into their product. PowerPoint would be the next product that I think should be enhanced with this royalty free technology. You can learn more about NDI…

  3. Option to customize Powerpoint colors. I'm Color Blind and cannot see which slide is selected in the thumbnails in Dark Mode.

I'm Color Blind and I cannot easily see which slide is selected in the thumbnails when using the Dark Mode. The Dark mode is usually better for my eyes.
We could have an option to change that color (that I don't know - I think green), or an option to increase the thickness of that borderline around the thumbnails.

  4. Excel Graphs Change Size After Pasted as Link into PowerPoint

When pasting Excel graphs into PowerPoint as a linked object, the Excel graph will shrink to 50% size or grow to 150% size if any change is made to the Excel file it is linked to (in our experience, the object shrinks ~90% of the time). The dimensions of the object change in PowerPoint, but the scaling remains at 100%. In order to return the linked graph to the correct size as created in Excel, all Excel worksheets need to be closed and the 'Update Link' needs to be selected after right clicking on the graph. The linked graph will…

  6. Nicer defaults for chart styles

The currently recommended defaults for chart styles are very crazy-looking and unlikely to be better than what the average user designs. It would be nice to create professional-quality chart templates so users can avoid having to fiddle with settings.

Custom and eye-dropper colors for highlighter colors. Please allow full-range RGB/HEX color scales with shading for highlighter colors.

  9. Add custom and professional color palettes for maps

There is a great deal of innovation and nuance in coloring maps so that they are accurate, readable, and color blind. It would be useful to import these special color palettes into PP and Excel Maps easily.

For example, the carefully-designed "viridis" color palette is perceptually uniform and would be nice to use its many variants in PP. But it is currently not possible to import a map color palette (as far as I know).

  10. Improve the Linked Files Interface

The edit Links to Files dialogue box needs a refresh.
    1) you cannot even scroll left right and successfully get the often very long file path displayed; identifying the right file when trying to update charts in ppt is not easily possible. Recommendation: fix the display of the content in this window that the information gets actually shown. Also useful would be the possibility to resize this window to be able to avoid scrolling at all.
    2) add a reference to the object in this "Links" window, so you know what object on what slide is linked. A little preview…

  11. Add lollipop charts to visualize many frequencies cleanly and minimally

In recent years, lollipop charts have become popular to visualize frequencies of variables. They're especially useful when you have 8+ categories to represent because bar graphs would be too cluttered.

    Example: https://www.data-to-viz.com/graph/lollipop.html

  12. Remove 3D charts because research shows that they are decoded incorrectly

3D charts have been critiqued by nearly every data visualization researcher and many professionals in the field. Experts know from studies that people interpret them incorrectly and they do not offer anything valuable unless it is a 3D map.

  13. Integrate x-axis and y-axis titles into axes.

Professional data visualizations from sources like the NY Times' Fivethirtyeight blog integrate the titles of axes into the axes themselves (see https://fivethirtyeight.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Fehrman-Autobiography-0206-1.png?w=575).

This makes virtually every chart more minimals, cleaner, and improves reading speed. Small touches like these may a huge improvement.

  14. Add more useful data visualizations and better defaults. Include ridegeline plots and confidence envelopes

New plots like shaded density plots and ridegeline plots (link 1 below, section 9.2) would greatly help show many different data distributions. Most presenters just show means and error bars.

Shaded confidence envelopes or even hypothetical outcome plots (link 2 below) would be welcome too. Currently, these have to be hacked together in a cumbersome way. In general, studying the data visualization/HCI literature and building features from there would greatly improve charts in MS Office.

Consider how defaults could be changed so that plots are more minimal and clean, as with NY Times visualizations (link 3 below).

  17. venn diagram + Coloring

There is no Venn Chart available in Power Point, You must look into other chart libraries like -> https://www.highcharts.com/demo/line-ajax

Also for larger presentations; like 200 - 400 slides, Specific Coloring for labels (e.g. Brands) is a big hassel, there order may change in other slides. We cannot simply copy paste charts. Color Pallets should be associated with custom labels (user Defined). So we don't have to color each chart labels every time.

Chart label sorting also include by its values (based on specific columns; like if we have Jan - Dec data; and we would like to sort it using…

  18. Elbow shape connectors should feature a curved elbow with a radius adjustment handle

Currently there is no way to create an elbow connector line that has a curved elbow.

All elbow connectors are only straight 90 degrees corners. Elbow shape connectors should feature a curved elbow with a radius adjustment handle.

It makes the flowcharts far more easy to read improving readability and of course accessibility at the same time.

  19. What happened to the ungroup function?

Last month the ungroup function worked. Now it doesnt. I used to be able to import charts I made in other programs, such as SYSTAT, then ungroup it (twice) in Word or Powerpoint to change the color or text of points or labels and now that function doesn't work and instead shuts down the program. I desperately need this function to finish my thesis!!

  20. Bug: Can't Save a Picture if you have more than 1 new window

If you make a new window of your presentation and then you want to save one slide as a picture from File menu, than the result will be incorrect image.

If you do from right click menu of your mouse, then it won't open the Save as Picture window dialogue
