  1. Pictures difficult to cut and paste from the Web.

Cutting pictures into a PowerPoint 2013 slide has become very difficult: the image wants to locate in the upper right hand corner and disrupts the entire design. Please fix this.

    • How about having banner options?

For teachers instead of cutting out individual letters with ancient die cutters with only one font option...how about allowing PP to print up a banner for bulletin boards using cardstock and fun fonts. Allow us to select how many inches long (going beyond the one page.) I have done this with several pages but I have to estimate where to line the pages up with word spaces and it's a big headache. Instead how about allowing me to design a banner that is 8.5" tall by 132" or ___. All you would have to do is line the edges of…

      • Audio/Video start on click

When you insert an audio or video, it’s automatically set to start “on click.”

But it’s not REALLY “on click” – it’s really WHEN CLICKED. As in trigger animation when clicked. Look in the animation pane; you’ll see.

ARGH. This is so damned hard to explain, and the fact that the label in the Start setting on the Ribbon is wrong doesn’t help. (In the Video Tools Playback tab of the Ribbon it says START ON CLICK, but it's not on click, it's WHEN CLICKED as is explained in the tooltip if you linger there long enough to see the…

            • Combine online and not-online Insert Picture dialogs

In PPT 2013, we have options to insert pictures from hard drive (on Insert tab and in content placeholders and in picture placeholders) and to insert online pictures (on Insert tab and in content placeholders).

However, if you add a SmartArt graphic and click the placeholder there, all options (insert from file, search bing, insert from OneDrive, and potentially other online storage) are on the same dialog. Same with Change Picture.

Why don't all the insert options have a combined dialog with both online and offline options?

              • Artistic line styles

I'd love to see artistic brushes for lines/outlines so I can make shapes that look hand-drawn or painted.

                • templates such as greeting cards indicate the size of the closed card & when it is laying flat

In using the templates for "cards" was unable to locate the size or measurement of the card, plus if there was a possibility of increasing or decreasing the x:y sizes independently for an envelope.

                  • Why do graphics sometimes not save well to PP well?

I use a lot of clipart and in the past when I have saved the clipart to a PP when I reopen it, the clarity of the image is gone and I have to redo the image again. I wish that there were settings for us who make digital printing products with PP. I feel like I have to guess and try things out and sometimes it is very hard to pin point why things are acting up since printing is not something you cater to with PP. Sometimes the PP will hang up with converting to PP via Printing…

                    • The colors in PP do not translate well with my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus all the time.

There are times that the colors are off big time when I print them from PP. Recently a teal color printed as blue but the PP shows teal. The printer I have is very popular with business and cost effective and you and HP are not communicating well.

                      • Allow the user to choose the default MIDI out device from PowerPoint

PowerPoint is a great tool, but actually limited in "show" environments. MIDI is a standard in communication/control of devices, lights, fx (and of course sound systems).

Actually, playing a MIDI file from within PowerPoint plays it via the default "GS Wavesynth" MIDI device from Windows. But if we want to be able to control other devices, we NEED to be able to change that to the device of our choice (a virtual MIDI-to-network device, etc).

If this gets implemented, users (and professionals) would be able to embed simple ".mid" files, playing automatically (or manually) with slides. But when these files…

                        • Make Powerpoint accept Ctrl+'+e to create accentuated letter é and others like this, same a Word does!

I use a UK keyboard, no accentuated letters on it. But my name is foreign with an accentuated letter. Each time I need to put my name in a powerpoint presentation, I cannot use Ctrl+'+e to create a é. I have to open Word, create the é then copy and paste back in Powerpoint. Powerpoint should be able to work like Word and create these accentuated letter by simple Ctrl + key combinations.

By the way, do it too for Outlook and Excel!

                          • Customise presenter view interface

The presenter view interface should be customisable so that meeting notes can be permanently disabled for a document, to allow more space for speaker notes. Currently each time presenter view is launched on a document the layout defaults to standard and the boxes and to be repositioned to allow all speaker notes to be read.

                            • last modified field

I would like the option to add a field variable that displays the date the file was last modified. This function is available in Word, and it would be very useful in PowerPoint as well.

As a show tech for corporate events I use PowerPoint daily on big screen presentations. One thing I would find very useful would be a countdown timer on presenter view screen (displaying remaining time left on VT) for embedded videos.

                                  • Voice Activated Slide Triggers

I work with a group of 13-17 year old kids that are interested in computer and mobile technology.

While we were rehearsing our end of year presentation for our donors, parents, supporters, etc. one of the kids had an idea that is worth sharing.

Imagine if PowerPoint could allow the user to program the slides to show up according to a spoken phrase, that way, if the presenter goes out of order, the correct slide always shows up.

Similar to how android phones are always “listening” for the “OK Google” phrase in your voice – the slides could all programmed…

                                      • Get someone with a knowledge of history to create/edit the captions! 4, 12, 25 and 32 all have major errors!

                                        4. This was not the first flight. Photo shows a glider in 1911. Glider flights began pre-1900. The Wrights first powered flight was 1903. The 1911 photo is merely the longest glider flight as at that date.
                                        12. That's not a Rolls
                                        25. Siam (Thailand) has never been a colony, and had no British Royal family involvement
                                        32 Rear gunner of WW2, not WW1.
                                        Great photos though!

                                        • Real-time timer

Almost all my presentations have a preset time slot. It would make sense to integrate a small real-time timer/counter running in a corner on all slides of a presentation (except the frontsheet). This is however not available in PPT.
