How is it that this request only has 652 votes??? I regularly work with the MS Office suite and the Adobe products. While the Adobe products are AWESOME, most of my colleagues work in Microsoft based tools and I need to be able to provide them with native assets they can use in PowerPoint. A lock feature would save so much time. My current work-around involves me hiding and unhiding the object but prevents me from viewing the changes I'm making in context if other objects are hidden. I'm about to install a plug-in as a more permanent workaround but these kinds of things slow down the perofmrnace; benefits greater than the burden at this point.
PS ... I only found this out recently, ppt does allow you to paste Metadata with objects. So you can create things in Illustrator and then paste them in as MS objects to manipulate in ppt. Again, so much time between clicks!
