This would be way more useful than the "design suggestions" feature!
Sharing in case it helps anyone - I bought PPT Productivity add-in to get the lock/unlock shapes feature (another popular uservoice request that hasn't been actioned...). They have a Slide Library/ Gallery feature that lets you save slides or shapes including tables. You can search for them in a toolbar that shows in PowerPoint to find and easily reuse then. I now use that to save my favorite table layouts. They have a free 30 day trial (to the full featured version - lots of other shortcuts too). The website is pptproductivity.com -

Yes please! I just purchased this add-in to get the shape locking feature and found they have also solved the change language (can confirm it changes language of all text - including in shapes, text in text boxes and text in Notes)
PPT Productivity - https://pptproductivity.com/powerpoint-change-language-apply-all-slides-at-once
But while I'm happy I now have the feature, I can't believe it's not a standard PowerPoint feature.

I know MSFT have said this is in the works, but if (like me!) you're sick of waiting, add-in called PPT Productivity have introduced object locking AND unlocking in their tools. Have signed up to their free 30 day trial, can confirm I now have object locking and unlocking AND it also works on the slide master!! https://pptproductivity.com/blog/powerpoint-lock-shape
This is the same as "Introduce Saving a Table Template in PowerPoint" request (which already has a larger number of votes so adding to that might better help the cause!
