A good presentation can have timed transitions, animations that start automatically and others relying on click(mouse or navigational keys). If a presenter is not familiar with the animations present in the slideshow, not knowing when to click to advance to the next animation, clicking when it is not necessary interrupting the animation or not clicking when necessary, the presentation flow gets affected.
In the presenter view mode, if there could be a tool to indicate whether or not to click for the next animation, or a visual indicator on the presentation to indicate required action, it would eliminate the necessity to study the transitions and animations in detail in case the presenter is not the author.
